
Alexandra Harrington
Associate
Alexandra’s practice focuses on investigations and criminal and civil litigations, specializing in cross-border and international actions. She represents foreign and domestic corporations and financial institutions in investigations and criminal matters alleging securities law violations, fraud, and money laundering, as well as in complex commercial litigation and arbitral disputes.
Experience
Alexandra's experience includes responding to official requests for information from the SEC, DOJ, and FINRA on behalf of her clients. Alexandra also has experience assisting foreign-based clients in navigating the U.S. legal system, including to obtain discovery for use in foreign tribunals. She further advises on cryptocurrency, digital assets, and artificial intelligence actions.
Prior to joining Esseks Ingoglia, Alexandra was a litigator at a large international law firm headquartered in London.
Alexandra graduated with her B.A. in 2008 from Tufts University. Prior to becoming an attorney, she worked as a special education teacher and learning specialist in New York City for over a decade, counseling students and families. She moved to Scotland in 2019 to attend law school, graduating with distinction from the University of Edinburgh in 2021 with her LL.B. (Graduate Entry). She was a member of the University of Edinburgh’s Mooting Society, winning the senior competition, for which she argued before the then Deputy President of the U.K. Supreme Court, Lord Patrick Hodge. While completing her LL.B. at Edinburgh, she simultaneously earned her J.D. from Albany Law School in New York, graduating summa cum laude in December 2022, serving as a member of Albany Law Review, and receiving both the Dean’s Scholarship and William McKinley Scholarship.
